The Franschhoek Wine Walk
Wine, fynbos and sushi in a stunning valley
This spectacular, 7-km walking tour showcases the best views in Franschhoek and takes guests
on private vineyard and orchard trails to three stunning wine farms in the Franschhoek Valley:
Mont Rochelle
La Roche
Glenwood
Surrounded by beautiful mountains, you’ll hear the untold stories of Franschhoek’s most interesting characters and how The Valley of Dreams has established itself as a world-class destination.
You’ll taste 9 wines, enjoy some local snacks along the way and end with a delicious sushi lunch.
Beautiful Scenery
We start in the town centre, but quickly enter the surrounding vineyards, orchards and spectacular mountain scenery. The non-stop panoramic views are breathtaking and a major highlight of the tour.
Delicious Food and Wine
As the Food and Wine Capital of South Africa, Franschhoek has some of the best produce, wine and food in the country - which we showcase on the walk that culminates with lunch from a sushi master.
Fascinating Stories
Run-ins with lions, jousting stick deaths, the birth of a wine region, South Africa’s first non-white mayor and the early days of Bastille Day - the story of Franschhoek is both inspiring and entertaining.
The Route
We meet at the church in town and follow a route through private vineyards and orchards to three world-class vineyards in the Franschhoek Valley. The route is 7km and grants wine walkers spectacular views of the valley, as we taste wine and share stories along the way. The trail is moderate and easily completed by someone of average fitness, ending with a delicious al fresco lunch at the end. There’s no better way to bask in the beauty of Franschhoek!

We believe…
That Cape Town is the most beautiful city in the world, brimming with stories as diverse as its nature. Yet it suffers from a range
of social ills. Our mission is to create world-class walking tours that celebrate our diversity, history and natural beauty, and, in turn, raise funds for local initiatives that introduce youngsters from disadvantaged backgrounds to the joy, sense of adventure and calming power of the outdoors.
We want to help them nurture a relationship with the outside world, which can improve their sense of wellbeing and ultimately, hopefully, lead to better conservation of our wild spaces too.
